Semi-Trailer Hauling Vehicle Catches Fire
February 19 - Sunday morning February 19 at 10:59 hours, Leonardtown and Hollywood Volunteers were alerted to a reported commercial vehicle fire on Point Lookout Rd. at the entrance to Leonardtown Ford. Engine 11 arrived on the scene at 11:03 hours to find a tractor trailer hauling vehicles and one of the tranported vehicles on the top section of the trailer with an engine compartment on fire. Engine 14 arrived bringing additional resources to assist with the extinguishment while Engine 72 staged with a hydrant nearby. Both crews made quick work of the vehicle fire without injuries. Co.1 units were in quarters at 11:44 hours.

Heavy Rain Causes Accident in the 1-08 Box
January 12 - At 2117 hours on Wednesday the 11th of January Companies 1, and 19, were alerted to 22211 Budds Creek Rd. in Leonardtown for the motor vehicle accident with injuries. While enroute to the scene, Squad 1 was advised by Fireboard 1 that police were on the scene with heavy entrapment in both vehicles involved, and that they were starting Squad 7. Squad 1 arrived on the scene to find 2 patients trapped in 2 separate vehicles. Squad 1 deployed their tools and went to work extricating the patient in the white truck. Next to arrive was Engine 11. January 7 - The 2012 Annual Installation of Officers and awards banquet was held Saturday January 7th 2012. This was the 84th annual Installation of Officers and Awards Banquet. The evening began with a cocktail hour followed by a wonderful meal provided by Rita B Catering. The installation of officers followed dinner, where our master of ceremonies for the night, Past President Thomas A. Mattingly Sr. introduced the Operational and Executive officers who were installed by MSFA President Dave Lewis. The Auxiliary was installed by LASMVFA President Darby Byrd. Christmas in Leonardtown
November 25 - For over 65 years, the members of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department have placed the Christmas tree in the town park. Over the years, the tree has been place in one of the two parks in downtown Leonardtown. In years past, the streets were filled with lights strung across the downtown area to poles in the center of the two parks. As time passed, that concept changed and the department continued to place the live cedar tree as a sign of the beginning of the Christmas season. Volunteers Run 5th Due House Fire
August 17 - At 1330 hours on Tuesday the 16th of August, Companies 9, 7, 3, and Calvert Company 3 were dispatched to 45915 Patuxent Ln. for the reported house fire with people trapped. Police units arrived on scene advising incoming units that there was no one trapped in the house, that everyone had gotten out. Engine 91(Alioto) was the first piece of apparatus on the scene giving a sizeup of a two story residential structure with heavy fire conditions. Chief 3(Gould) arrived a short time later assuming the Patuxent Ln. command.
